SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Aida Pilav, president of the Crisis Staff of the Sarajevo Canton, said that in the last 24 hours, 58 samples were tested, with 4 positive, of which three were retested.
"Fourteen are hospitalized, and one of our fellow citizens who was on a ventilator has died. In total, 2,169 samples have been tested in the Sarajevo Canton, 110 are positive, of which 11 are retested. Three foreign nationals have been relocated. There have been five deaths in Sarajevo," Pilav said.
She stated that the number of tests has been increased, but still based on the recommendation of epidemiologists.
"First, people with symptoms will be tested, and there was an announcement of serological testing, in a way that we test priority citizens, i.e., those who have been in contact with infected persons, such as healthcare workers, public services, social institutions, and other services, to see how much the virus is circulating in the country," Pilav said.
She confirmed that a resident of the Gerontology Center who tested positive for the coronavirus was transferred to the General Hospital today.
"She does not have any active or severe clinical picture. Testing of the first group of employees at the Gerontology Center has begun. We will continue testing in both public and private institutions," Pilav said.
Regarding the passengers from Sweden who are in quarantine at the Student Dormitory in Bjelave, she stated that we should not discuss that measure in any way.
"The quarantine measure is prescribed by the federal minister of health for a duration of 28 days, but in consultation with the WHO, we received a recommendation that quarantine can last 14 days. I call on our fellow citizens to be patient. There are 3 infected persons in quarantine, and they are fully under epidemiological supervision," Pilav said.
