
(Patria) - UK Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Karen Pierce, together with British Ambassador Julian Reilly, visited today Donja Jablanica, a place affected by floods in October 2024 in which 19 people lost their lives.
Their host was the Mayor of Jablanica, Emir Muratović.
"With Mayor Emir Muratović, we discussed urgent steps that need to be taken for reconstruction so that people can return to their homes," Reilly stated.

Although eight months have passed since the floods, time seems to stand still in Donja Jablanica. The traces of the devastating floods and the torrent that brought stones from the nearby quarry are still visible.
Some of the residents have been relocated to another location in container housing, some are having houses built in other places, and some would like to return to Donja Jablanica.
Pierce stayed in Mostar where she had a series of meetings, and today she also spoke with the President of HDZ BiH Dragan Čović, religious leaders, students, professors...
