PIC: The Armed Forces of BiH cannot be called into question

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Peace Implementation Council Steering Board unequivocally confirms that the Armed Forces of BiH represent a key element of stability, cohesion, and security of Bosnia and Herzegovina and supports the role they play both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in several international peacekeeping missions. The Russian Federation did not join this statement.

"The Presidency of BiH is the supreme commander of the Armed Forces of BiH, and all members of the Presidency of BiH have a legal obligation to ensure the functioning of the Armed Forces of BiH - which is an exclusive state competence - and cannot call them into question in any way. We support the full implementation of the laws in the field of defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which clearly define the chain of command, duties, responsibilities, and conduct of members of the Armed Forces of BiH," it was announced after today's session of the PIC Steering Board.
