Five-member family found dead on their luxury estate

A five-member family, including a husband, wife and three children, was found dead after none of them had been seen in public for days, reports the British Mirror, as carried by the news agency Patria.

Police were called after none of them had been seen in recent days, and none of the children had shown up at school either. Brian and Karen Short, along with their three children, were found on their luxury lakeside estate near Minneapolis, in the U.S. state of Minnesota. Their estate is located on Lake Minnetonka, about twenty kilometres from Minneapolis.

For now, police suspect that one of the family members used a firearm to kill the others and then took their own life, but they are not releasing further details at this time. The death was also confirmed by Brian's company on its website.

"There is no easy way to say this. We have just learned that Brian and his family have passed away. News reports say it was an apparent murder-suicide, but this has not been confirmed by authorities and no details have been released to the public yet.

Regardless of the details, the result is the same... a tragic loss for families, friends, colleagues and the medical community," reads a statement on the website of Brian's company, allnurses.com.
