FIVE QUESTIONS FOR IRFAN ČENGIĆ: Did you report campaign financing to the CEC and do you know you will have to account to the authorities?

(Patria) - The SDA Municipal Board Stari Grad has posed five questions for Irfan Čengić that he must answer to the citizens of Stari Grad, and he will certainly have to answer them to the competent authorities?

They listed the following questions:

1. Does Irfan Čengić know that there are limits on financing pre-election campaigns prescribed by the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that in the specific case of the early elections in Stari Grad, this amounted to around 12,000 KM?

2. Where did he get several hundred thousand KM to invest in the campaign for the early elections for a mandate that will last less than a year?

The money was invested in the following:

- Over 120 rented advertising spaces in Stari Grad and in the Centar Municipality (billboards, citylights, banners, public transport stops, and LED displays), for which we have evidence, each costing between 150 KM and 1,500 KM.

- Registered mail, which is paid for each individual letter, and which arrived at a large number of addresses in Stari Grad, for which we also have evidence;

- Unprecedented sponsorship on social networks Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, but also Google Ads, into which, according to expert estimates, tens of thousands of KM have been invested;

- Rented advertising spaces and ads on several portals;

- Paid call centers and agencies that have been abusing databases and personal data of citizens for months, violating election campaign rules, and harassing citizens of Stari Grad;

- The SDP Stari Grad office rented in Sarači since the beginning of September, which was branded with official images long before the official campaign started;

- Printing a large quantity of flyers, letters, posters, and other promotional materials;

- Paid activists and promoters for fieldwork, twenty of them, for which we also have evidence.

3. Did he report the spent money to the Central Election Commission in his asset declaration when he took over the mandate in the Assembly/Parliament, or if it was not his, did he report it as donations to him or his political party?

4. Does Čengić know that the campaign officially started on October 14, while he, by his own admission in a debate with our candidate, was distributing his pre-election programs as early as September 5, 2023, and that the call centers he engaged were running his pre-election campaign for months before, which, according to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is defined as a premature campaign and a sanction is prescribed for it?

5. Is Mr. Čengić aware that, after the election campaign ends, regardless of whether he is elected or not, he will certainly have to answer these questions to the competent authorities?

We remind you, Čengić is the candidate for the head of Stari Grad from the Trojka coalition in the by-elections, and his opponent is Dženan Selimbegović, supported by SDA, SBiH, and part of DF.
