
(Patria) - Three nurses and one hygienist from the Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic at the University Clinical Center in Tuzla have been infected with the coronavirus, confirmed the director of the Tuzla University Clinical Center, Vahid Jusufović.
They were in contact with the head nurse at the Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic, who had previously been confirmed to have a coronavirus infection.
"The clinic is currently operating at reduced capacity, and only those who have not been in contact with them are working. We have tested all clinic staff and are currently awaiting test results," said Jusufović.
The number of people infected with the coronavirus at the University Clinical Center in Tuzla has now risen to nine.
In total, 68 people are currently infected with the coronavirus in the Tuzla Canton. The total number of infected in Bosnia and Herzegovina now exceeds 650.
"After one detected case at the ENT clinic, during the night the Institute of Microbiology of the University Clinical Center of Tuzla Canton discovered five more cases of infection at this clinic. We had 171 tested individuals and we have 12 new cases, meaning a total of 68 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the Tuzla Canton area so far," says Dajana Čolić, Minister of Health of Tuzla Canton.
Earlier, the Neonatology Department at the Children's Disease Clinic was closed due to the confirmation of two cases of coronavirus infection in a nurse and a doctor.
The Skin Disease Clinic has been completely closed because a nurse and a doctor have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The Crisis Staff of Civil Protection of Canton 10 confirmed five new cases of coronavirus infection in that canton. All five individuals are from Livno and are linked to the first infected man from Livno, who was placed in the isolation block of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases in Mostar on Saturday.
"All five newly infected individuals are linked to the person hospitalized yesterday from Livno, who was confirmed to have the covid-19 disease and has been placed on a ventilator," said Vasilija Broćeta, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Welfare.
