Bakers from Bihać secure bread for at least 40 families

In just 48 hours, after the BiH news agency Patria launched the campaign – bread from yesterday free for the socially vulnerable, bakers from Krajina have secured about 40 families who will receive one loaf of bread for free every day.

Bakers from all over BiH can join the humanitarian campaign, who in their towns will not throw away "bread from yesterday" but will share it with vulnerable fellow citizens.

Bakers and restaurants in BiH throw away tons of food every day, which, if sorted properly, can feed the hungry in our country.

The idea that bread that is not sold in one day should be free was first conceived by baker Amir Mujić from the Bihać bakery "Amfora".

He does not throw away the bread he cannot sell, but shares it with socially vulnerable fellow citizens. Every day, about ten Bihać families receive bread at Amiro's bakery.

Baker Redžai Unal also joined the campaign, who will provide bread for 30 families every day from three "Mülayim" bakeries in Bihać.

- This is a very good campaign. There are no intermediaries between bakers and socially vulnerable people, thus avoiding any possible abuse of the humanitarian action. I will make a list of 30 people who will be able to come every day and get one loaf of bread from my bakeries – Unal told the Patria agency.
