Pejanović: Dodik has returned to Karadžić's politics and will end up like Radovan Karadžić!

(Patria) - Mirko Pejanović, academic and member of the wartime Presidency of RBiH, speaking on BHT, discussed the challenges facing BiH.

“BiH is the only country in the Western Balkans that has experienced such suffering, it has also experienced genocides, and it can only move forward if integration into the EU is accelerated. This means building standards and building a state of law,” said Pejanović, emphasizing that the EU must not calculate.

„I was in negotiations during the war to achieve peace, because the wartime Presidency had two positions: we are establishing the Army of RBiH and fighting for the defense of territorial integrity and sovereignty, the unity and multi-ethnic being of BiH, but we are also negotiating to reach a peace solution as soon as possible. The Europeans, roughly speaking, who participated in those negotiations, went along the path of least resistance. Whoever has more strength and power on the ground, that's how it is.

And, secondly, once you agree, we will accept it, until the US stood up and said let's reach an agreement. The EU must deal with this, primarily because of geopolitics, so that BiH takes the steps that remain for BiH to enter the EU,” Pejanović pointed out.

He spoke about the importance of preserving BiH.

„BiH has survived and become a multi-ethnic society through historical destiny and centuries. BiH will continue to exist as such, and for successful and normal prosperity, a state of law is necessary. Everything will improve through the adoption of European legal acquis,” added Pejanović.

Explaining that it is necessary for the EU to form an expert team to help on the path of the rule of law, he emphasized that no one will extinguish Republika Srpska with this.

„Fear is being sown. No territory will be abolished, but the institutions of BiH will be strengthened. So that parliament is not sidelined, you don't have five commissions that can work. Reforms within the composition of the Council of Ministers, we cannot keep ecology, science in the background,” he said.

The academic also touched upon Milorad Dodik, saying that it will not go on like this anymore.

„Dodik has returned to Radovan Karadžić's politics and with that politics he will end up like Radovan Karadžić. I haven't communicated with him since 2010. I know what he contributed to this country for good, I am telling him not to go into evil. To distance himself from endangering peace, to distance himself from undermining the institutions of BiH, to move closer to accepting European standards, because we who live in BiH – our lives are woven from the happiness in which happiness is equal for Serbs, Croats, Bosniaks, and Jews. Therefore, common life, tolerance, and a European future,” added Pejanović.
