Paul Pogba receives four-year suspension for doping

(Patria) - Juventus footballer Paul Pogba has been suspended from professional football for four years due to doping.

The news was announced on his X account by renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Frenchman "failed" a routine doping test following Juventus' 3-0 victory over Udinese at the end of August last year.

A blood analysis at the time revealed the presence of DHEA - a substance banned in Italy's Serie A.

Pogba received the maximum possible penalty - a four-year suspension.

The 30-year-old Pogba played only 52 minutes in two appearances for Juventus in Italy's Serie A this season, and it is assumed that Juve will seek a unilateral termination of the contract to the player's detriment.

All of this likely means the end of the career for the one-time best midfielder in the world.
