On Friday, 5 February, at the Culture Centre of the Travnik municipality, starting at 2:00 PM, a ceremonial academy will be held as part of the commemoration of the anniversary of the Consultation of Regional Commanders of the Patriotic League of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina "Mehurići 1992.-2016.". According to the programme, a visit to the Central Martyrs' Cemetery is planned at 1:00 PM, reports the Patria news agency.
The Organising Committee invites interested parties to join the commemoration of this event, which ranks among the most significant in the period from July 1991 to the end of February 1992 in the preparations for the defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Due to increased interest in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the commemoration of the anniversary of the Consultation of Regional Commanders of the Patriotic League of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina "Mehurići 1992.-2016.", the Organising Committee, along with other guests, has invited holders of certificates of the Patriotic League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, organisers of resistance who organised and participated in the preparation for the defence and defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the period from 10 June 1991 to 15 April 1992, through cantonal, regional, municipal and associations of fighters of the Brčko District.
This will be the first opportunity after the war for surviving participants - regional commanders of the Patriotic League of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina - to meet with their immediate associates from the field from the period 1991-1992.
Under very complex circumstances, the Patriotic League of Bosnia and Herzegovina was formed on 10 June 1991, and it stood in defence of its country alongside members of the active and reserve police force, operating until 9 or 15 April 1992, when it became part of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Consultation of Regional Commanders of the Patriotic League of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held on 7 and 8 February 1992 in Mehurići near Travnik. This Consultation is the core of the software that developed the defence system of the people, nationalities and citizens of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina against the impending aggression.
At the Consultation, the Directive for the Defence of the Sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina was adopted. In accordance with the Directive and instructions of the Main Staff of the PL R BiH, work was intensified in the zone of responsibility of the regional staffs on forming new units and training their members.
Directions and assessments were established for creating organised forces through the Patriotic League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as actions in defending the sovereignty, integrity and wholeness of Bosnia and Herzegovina to ensure the future common life of all peoples and nationalities on the state territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
