Patković: Politics has divided veteran organizations

Concrete employment programs for the veteran population can be realized through the establishment of veteran cooperatives, said the president of the Association of Recipients of the Highest War Decorations Šerif Patković for the BH News Agency Patria after a meeting with the Federal Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić, and the Ministers for Veterans' Affairs and Disabled Veterans of the Defensive-Liberation War and Internal Affairs Zukan Helez and Predrag Kurteš.

Another problem that needs to be resolved is the status of recipients of the Golden Police Badge who are not in the records of recipients of war decorations. In this regard, it was agreed that the ministries for veterans' affairs and disabled veterans of the defensive-liberation war and internal affairs of the FBiH will approach the resolution of this issue in coordination. This concerns 14 recipients of this decoration from the Zenica-Doboj and Una-Sana cantons.

According to Patković, one of the problems is the disunity of the veteran population.

- The inaction of politics has divided the veteran organizations. And we must solve real problems.

One of the topics of discussion was the current situation. As Patković said, the Association has no information that their members are participants in the daily protests.

- It is not worth us seeking the resignation of the government; we need solutions for the problems in society - says Patković.

As he says, they asked why traffic is constantly being blocked and whether there is a possibility for demonstrators to express their dissatisfaction elsewhere.

- However, as we learned at the meeting, the representatives of the demonstrators are constantly changing, coming up with individual demands, and despite all the willingness, an adequate solution cannot be found because of this - states Patković.

Representatives of the Association informed the Prime Minister and ministers about the project of marking May 9, Golden Lily Day.
