(Patria) - Members of the Joint Committee on European Integration of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSBiH) held a meeting today with members of the Delegation of the Committee on European Affairs of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Denmark, led by the Committee Chairwoman Brigitte Klintskov Jerkel.
During the meeting, they discussed the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and BiH's European path, with a special focus on the adoption of the Reform Agenda as a condition for activating funds from the European Union's (EU) Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
Members of the Delegation of the Committee on European Affairs of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Denmark, the country currently presiding over the EU Council, emphasized that they strongly support the EU enlargement process and the European perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighting the importance of continuing the reform process, especially in the areas of fighting corruption, strengthening political rights and freedoms, as well as media freedom. In this regard, they stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina should seize the opportunity and, during the Danish EU presidency, activate the Growth Plan, which, as they assessed, brings concrete benefits to all BiH citizens, especially young people.
In an open discussion, the Deputy Chairman of the Joint Committee on European Integration of the PSBiH, Miroslav Vujičić, and committee members Predrag Kojović, Saša Magazinović, Šefik Džaferović, Ilija Cvitanović, and Denijal Tulumović presented different views on the current political moment in the country, emphasizing that there is a consensus among all political parties in BiH regarding the European path, and underlining that the EU cannot be complete without the Western Balkan countries.
Both sides welcomed the importance of such visits and meetings for the purpose of exchanging experiences and strengthening bilateral cooperation, as well as inter-parliamentary dialogue between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Kingdom of Denmark.
