Lawmakers demand Mioković schedule an emergency session dedicated to environmental disasters in the FBiH

(Patria) - A group of federal deputies has requested the convening of an emergency session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the FBiH with a single agenda item - Consideration of the issue of environmental disasters and environmental security in the territory of the FBiH.

"Environmental security and environmental protection represent one of the most important issues for the health of citizens, sustainable development and security of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Increasingly frequent environmental disasters (floods, landslides, air pollution, water and soil contamination, fires and industrial incidents) require an urgent response from the Parliament of the FBiH," announced on social networks the DF deputy Sanel Kajan.



An emergency session, as stated in the initiative, dedicated to this issue is needed for:
‣ determining the situation in the field of environmental security;
‣ considering the competencies and responsibilities of institutions; and
‣ proposing and adopting conclusions and measures for improving the environmental protection and environmental security system.

The initiative for convening the emergency session, submitted to the Speaker of the House of Representatives Dragan Mioković, was signed by a total of 36 federal deputies (both from the ruling and opposition parties).
