FBiH Parliament Held Only 10 Sessions Since December 2014, No New Ones in Sight!

There are still no indications or announcements that a session of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) will be held soon, writes the Patria News Agency.

And while Prime Minister Fadil Novalić claims there is no crisis in the Federation, on-the-ground indicators contradict him, as the last session of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament was held on July 31.

Edin Mušić himself, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament and one of the eight vice-presidents of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), states that overcoming the crisis and stagnation in the FBiH Government and this entity is inevitable.

He also does not know when a new session will be scheduled, and it makes no sense to schedule one when there is no parliamentary majority. We remind you that on one of the mere 10 sessions held by the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament since December last year, not even the agenda could be adopted.

The Democratic Front (DF) has withdrawn from the coalition at this level, and the SDA and the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) are still looking for partners for the government, as the narrow majority (50 votes) that enabled the adoption of the Labor Law no longer exists. The SDA leader was optimistic at the beginning regarding the agreement and signing of the accord with the so-called smaller parties (SBiH, A-sda, and BPS), but after the problems and excessive demands of these parties, he admitted that the reconstruction of the FBiH Government and the establishment of a majority in the FBiH Parliament would proceed a bit slower.

Dragan Čović, the leader of the HDZ BiH, stated that, in his opinion, the Alliance for a Better Future (SBB) should become part of the government in the Federation of BiH, which should be seriously discussed during the meeting on Saturday between the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) and the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ).

And until concrete steps are taken, parliamentarians in the Federation will continue to be on extended leave, and citizens will remain in a state of blockade despite Novalić's claims that there is no crisis.
