On the table for Pope Francis's lunch, who will visit Sarajevo on June 6, wine and aperitif from the Vilinka cellars from Sretnica in the parish of Kruševo near Mostar will be served, reports the BH news agency Patria.
The wines to be served will be Vilinka - Žilavka and Vilinka - Blatina. For aperitif from the Vilinka cellars, the table will feature: Loza - Vilinka, Orahovača - Vilinka, Višnjevača - Vilinka, and Travarica - Vilinka.
Representatives of the Organizing Committee, Reverend Franjo Tomić, the economist of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, and Reverend Mr. Mladen Kalfić, the chancellor, met at Sretnice in Kruševo with the owner of the Vilinka winery, Velimir Ereš, and tasted the selected wines, agreeing on the necessary details.
For the Ereš family, this is a special honor to have their wine offered to the most esteemed guest.
The Pope's table will feature wines from the 2012 and 2013 harvests. The Ereš family's wines have already won about twenty awards, including a gold medal from Split, the Mostar Fair, and a bronze medal from London in a competition of 52 countries and 14,362 samples.
