EAST SARAJEVO, (Patria) - President of Republika Srpska Željka Cvijanović spoke today in East Sarajevo with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the United States of America (USA) for European and Eurasian Affairs, Matthew Palmer.
They discussed the current political and economic situation in BiH.
In her conversation with Palmer, President Cvijanović emphasized that the institutions of Republika Srpska are fully committed to cooperation, preserving peace and stability in the region, and further implementing economic and social reforms aimed at improving the business environment, as well as the living standards of all citizens, respecting the Dayton Peace Agreement, as well as the BiH Constitution, as its Annex Four.
During the meeting with President Cvijanović, Palmer expressed deep concern over the development of the rule of law in RS and offered American assistance to help RS face its challenges, while respecting international democratic norms, the US Embassy in BiH announced on Twitter.
Cvijanović said that it is high time to form a new convocation of the Council of Ministers, as well as authorities at all levels, and emphasized that respecting democratic procedures and implementing the electoral will of the citizens cannot be subject to political conditioning.
The meeting was also attended by the US Ambassador to BiH, Eric Nelson.
