SARAJEVO, (Patria) - At the 28th regular session of the Stari Grad Sarajevo Municipal Council, the Chairman of the Municipal Council, Jusuf Pušina, submitted his resignation. Previously, at the 27th session, councilors submitted an initiative signed by 20 councilors to initiate the procedure for the dismissal of the Chairman, and this item was on today's agenda. As reasons for initiating the procedure for the dismissal of the Chairman, the councilors cited violations of the Constitution, the Statute, disrespect for the Council, and exceeding the scope of authority.
Before voting on the item, Chairman Jusuf Pušina submitted his resignation, after which it was verified by the competent Appointments Commission and then confirmed by the Municipal Council. Pušina then left the session and did not attend the voting on the other agenda items, nor on the conclusion regarding the allocation of funds for aid to Asja Sućeska, for which he had proposed that it be the only item on the agenda.
This item was preceded by a vote for the Deputy Chairman of the Stari Grad Municipal Council, given that the position had been vacant since the departure of the former Deputy Chairman, Irfan Čengić. The councilors voted on two proposals: Vedran Dodik (Alliance for Stari Grad) and Tarik Dautović (SDA). Vedran Dodik was elected Deputy Chairman with 20 votes, while eight councilors voted for Dautović.
For the new Chairman of the Stari Grad Municipal Council, upon the proposal of the First Independent List, Samir Muhić was elected, with 23 councilors voting for his appointment.
At the 27th session of the Municipal Council, an initiative was also launched requesting the Municipal Mayor to initiate the procedure for the dismissal of the Municipal Ombudsman, Dženita Derviškadić. In the explanation of this proposal, the proponent stated that the Municipal Mayor, in accordance with the Decision on the Ombudsman Office, submits a proposal to the Council for the dismissal of the Ombudsman and that the legal conditions are met, which stipulate that the Ombudsman is dismissed if they commit a serious breach of duty or damage the reputation of the office, and if it is determined that over a longer period they do not achieve satisfactory results and perform the service poorly. The Municipal Council today accepted the proposal for the dismissal of Ombudsman Dženita Derviškadić, and Mirza Imamović was appointed as acting Municipal Ombudsman.
By the end of the session, the Proposal for a Decision to repeal the Decision on the Professional Service of the Stari Grad Sarajevo Municipal Council was adopted, as well as the Proposal for a Conclusion on the allocation of funds for assistance in the treatment of the seriously ill girl Asja Sućeska.
The decision to hold today's regular session of the Stari Grad Municipal Council was made yesterday at the regular Collegium of the Municipal Council.
