31st Olympic Games opened in Rio de Janeiro

The 31st Olympic Games, held until August 21, were opened last night in Rio de Janeiro. More than 11,000 athletes from 206 countries will participate in the Olympics, along with refugee representatives who will compete under the Olympic flag, and Kosovo and South Sudan will debut, Patria reports.

Competitions will be held in 28 sports.

All Olympians paraded through the Maracana stadium, and the team from Bosnia and Herzegovina was led by Amel Tuka, who carried the national flag. The colors of BiH in Rio are defended by athletes Hamza Alić, Kemal Mešić, Mesud Pezer, Lucia Kimani, judoka Larisa Cerić, swimmers Amina Kajtaz and Mihajlo Čeprkalo, tennis players Damir Džumhur and Mirza Bašić, and shooter Tatjana Đekanović, who did not attend the opening ceremony as she has a competition in the 10m air rifle discipline starting at 8:30 AM Brazilian time (1:30 PM our time).
