Open Doors of Museums Invite to Celebrate Culture, History, and Art

(Patria) - The European Night of Museums, an annual celebration of culture and history, invites all citizens to explore the world of museums and shared history, culture, and tradition across Europe. During this most important day for museums, these centers of culture and tradition open their doors and prepare special programs, inviting citizens not only to visit them and learn something new, but to join them in respecting and promoting our shared cultural heritage.

Culture, arts, and history remind us of our shared past and help build stronger connections for the future, and are an indispensable part of celebrating Europe Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As part of the Europe Day celebration activities, in cooperation with the embassies of Austria, France, Greece, and Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the European Union Info Centre organized virtual tours of prestigious European museums.

Visitors to museums in Banja Luka, Jablanica, Konjic, Mostar, Sarajevo, Travnik, and Trebinje had the opportunity to see parts of the collections of the Albertina Museum and the Natural History Museum in Vienna, to see some of the most famous and valued works exhibited in the Parisian Louvre and the Acropolis Museum in Athens, and thus join millions of Europeans celebrating the European Night of Museums.

The European Night of Museums is an opportunity to visit permanent and temporary exhibitions, but also to discover and experience museums in a different way through numerous events and activities. For fourteen years in a row, since 2005, the European Night of Museums has been a unique opportunity to discover new exhibitions, learn new things, and create lasting memories in houses of culture and tradition.
