Application opened for maternity leave applications for one-time support for newborns in 2025

(Patria) - The Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy today opened an online application for one-time financial support in the amount of 1,000 KM per newborn child in 2025.

The application is available online again this year, but it has been significantly upgraded and simplified compared to the previous year. Cooperation has been established with the Agency for Identification Documents, Data Records and Exchange of BiH – IDDEEA, thanks to which the data entered during the application is automatically checked in real-time, which will enable faster processing of applications and earlier payments. After the application, the Ministry will only verify the correctness of the bank account and then automatically initiate payments, which will be made on a monthly basis, as in the previous year.

“We have simplified the application and enabled mothers to exercise their right to support with minimal data entry and submission. We believe that this is another concrete way in which we show that the state should be an ally of the family. I always repeat; supporting the family is the best model for strengthening population policy and the demographic picture in every country,” said Adnan Delić, Federal Minister of Labour and Social Policy.

The application will be open throughout the year, and the right to this support can be exercised exclusively by mothers of children born in 2025. In certain cases, it will be necessary to submit additional documentation, namely:

- Medical documentation for children born outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to determine the justification for awarding funds;
- Additional data for children born in the Federation of BiH, one of whose parents is a foreign citizen.

In cases where the mother is a foreign citizen, the application can be submitted by the child's father, provided that the child resides in the territory of the Federation of BiH.

The goal of the improved application is to make it easier for mothers to access this support and to make it simple, fast, and accessible without unnecessary administration and waiting.

We remind you that during 2024, more than 16 million KM were paid through this application for over 16,000 newborns in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
