Opening of the Centre for Healthy Ageing in early 2016

In the Sarajevo Municipality Centar, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed today for the implementation of the municipal project Centre for Healthy Ageing. On behalf of the Mayor of Municipality Centar, Dževad Bećirević, the document was signed by Jasna Beba, Secretary of the Municipal Administrative Body, and on behalf of the Association 'Partnership for Public Health', which will implement the project, the Memorandum was signed by Svjetlana Fabijanić-Grbić, President of the Association, reports the Patria News Agency.

The Memorandum of Understanding defines the obligations and responsibilities of the Municipality Centar and the Association 'Partnership for Public Health' regarding the implementation of the Centre for Healthy Ageing project, which will soon be opened in the renovated municipal premises at Titova Street 12.

Fabijanić-Grbić, President of the Association 'Partnership for Public Health', which operates in all city municipalities and has good experience in such projects, emphasized that such a centre is important for people of the third age, providing them with the opportunity to meet and socialize with each other, to socialize and not feel lonely.

The opening of the Centre is planned for the beginning of 2016, and the equipping of the renovated premises at Titova 12 will be completed by the end of this year.

- 440,000 KM have been allocated from the budget of the Municipality Centar for reconstruction, and around 50,000 KM for equipping the premises, emphasized Babić, adding that the Service for Labour, Health and Social Affairs, together with the Association, will timely invite citizens of the third age, when this space opens, to participate in its work and activities.

The signing was attended by the Speaker of the Municipal Council Centar Nedžad Ajnadžić, Deputy Speaker of the Council Slaven Kovačević, councillors in Centar Varja Nikolić, Haris Fazlagić, Senad Alić and Suvad Kerla, as well as the Assistant Mayor Osmo Babić, head of the municipal Service for Labour, Health and Social Affairs, which manages the mentioned project, it was announced from the Municipality Centar.
