The kidnapper who has locked dozens of people in a cafe in the center of Sydney is demanding to speak with Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott. Otherwise, he claims to have planted four bombs that could be activated at any moment - Sky News reports.
So far, five people have managed to escape, and the Australian police report that negotiators have identified the kidnapper and managed to establish contact with him. However, they did not want to speculate on the motive for the kidnapping.
According to Sky News, the kidnapper is using the hostages as a human shield.
The attacker has been holding hostages since Monday morning in a cafe, Patria reports.
