Primary responsibility for the tragedy in Surčin, Serbia, lies with the crew commander, pilot Omer Mehić, according to the report of the expert Commission for the basic investigation of the military helicopter crash.
In the report, which "Blic" had access to, the Commission claims that alcohol was detected in the "crew commander and flight technician." The military helicopter crashed in Surčin on the evening of March 13, killing all seven people on board - four military crew members, two healthcare workers, and a baby who was to receive medical assistance.
The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade announced today that primary responsibility for the crash of the military helicopter lies with the crew.
- There are grounds for suspicion that part of the responsibility lies with a number of active members of the Serbian Army. There are indications of possible responsibility of a certain number of civilians - the Prosecutor's Office statement said.
