
SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Police officers of the Central Investigation Office of the Border Police of BiH, together with police officers of PPK TU East and PGP Hum, under the supervision of a prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, are conducting activities in the Foča area aimed at preventing, detecting and proving illegal acts committed by a number of suspects, due to reasonable suspicion that the criminal offense of "Organizing a group of people or an association for smuggling or distributing uncustomed goods" under Article 215 of the Criminal Code of BiH has been committed, in connection with the criminal offense of "Smuggling" under Article 214 of the Criminal Code.
During the aforementioned activities, it was documented that four suspects participated in the smuggling of at least 30,000 cartons of cigarettes from Montenegro to BiH, avoiding customs control measures in the border zone, thereby causing damage to the BiH budget in a larger monetary amount, the Border Police of BiH announced.
During the day, searches will be conducted of a number of premises used by the suspects, with the aim of finding items originating from the commission of the said criminal offenses, as well as items that may serve as evidence in criminal proceedings.
The aforementioned activities represent the continuous work of the Border Police of BiH in preventing illegal activities that cause damage to the BiH budget.
