SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton has established a Scientific Body for monitoring and analyzing the situation caused by coronavirus during the pandemic. The role of this expert body is of a scientific-advisory nature. Eminent experts will provide assistance to the Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton and the Ministry's Crisis Staff for the entire duration of the pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).
As stated by the Minister of Health, Rusmir Mesihović, the members of this scientific body are experts in the fields of microbiology, virology, genetics, epidemiology, and infectious diseases:
-Prof. Dr. Mirsada Hukić, specialist in microbiology and member of the European Academy of Sciences,
-Prof. Dr. Nihad Fejzić, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Sarajevo,
-Prof. Dr. Damir Marjanović, professor of genetic engineering and biotechnology,
-Prof. Dr. Fadila Serdarević, epidemiologist,
-Prof. Dr. Sajma Dautović, former head of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases of the University Clinical Center in Sarajevo and a top expert in the field of infectious diseases, and
-Dr. sci. Rijad Konjhodžić, specialist in genetic medicine and molecular diagnostics.
