The Executive Board session today did not elect the national team coach of BiH, but it was decided that next week, from the seven remaining candidates (Blaž Slišković, Mehmed Baždarević, Milovan Rajevac, Igor Štimac, Amar Osim, Sergej Barbarez, and Faruk Hadžibegić), two will be chosen, one of whom will be declared the new leader of the Dragons, writes the Patria news agency.
As Patria learns, Faruk Hadžibegić and Amar Osim are closest to the Dragons' bench.
Hadžibegić had the strongest lobby throughout the entire "election campaign," and an interesting work program, sources close to the Football Association of BiH tell Patria, while Osim is interesting to the members of the Executive Board due to his work plan, but also to Ivica Osim himself, who is coming from Austria to BiH although his return was announced only for January next year.
However, in the whole story, the members of the Executive Board are also considering the wishes of BH Fanaticos, who are explicit in wanting to see Sergej Barbarez as the coach.
However, some members are confused by Ivica Osim's statement in Croatia, where he praised Štimac.
- I wouldn't wish it on anyone, it is known what awaits the future... Igor might be good at this moment, we need someone who is bold, who has authority, he must be trusted. It's useless if you know something and the players don't believe you - Osim told Croatian media, during the Congress of the European Association of Football Coaches' Associations (AEFCA) in Zagreb, where he was a special guest.
