Transport of election material secured

(Patria) - Due to the situation caused by the annulment of the Central Election Commission of BiH's decision on selecting the most favorable bidder in the public procurement procedure -
transport of election material, and considering, among other things, the provisions of Article 1.11 of the Election Law of BiH, according to which all authorities at all levels and officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina and diplomatic-consular missions of BiH are obliged to assist the bodies responsible for conducting elections, the Central Election Commission of BiH, on 05.09.2024, requested support from the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Approval was requested from the Ministry of Defense of BiH for the use of trucks and vans of the Ministry of Defense of BiH for the transport of election material for the 2024 Local Elections from the warehouse of the Central Election Commission of BiH in Istočno Sarajevo to cities/municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and back to the warehouse of the Central Election Commission of BiH.

We note that the aforementioned transport is carried out with police escort, with the presence of an official of the Central Election Commission of BiH responsible for the handover of the transported material, and that the transport is carried out from the warehouse of the Central Election Commission of BiH to the headquarters of municipal/city election commissions located in municipal/city buildings, without going to polling stations.

In relation to the above, the Central Election Commission of BiH has received the decision of Zukan Helez, Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the loan of resources from this ministry, which will be realized and further regulated by concluding a loan agreement.

In accordance with the election material delivery plan, three delivery cycles will be carried out in the period from 29.09. to 14.10.2024.
