AFBiH and EUFOR Begin Training for 'Combined Response 26' Exercise

(Patria) - The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH) and EUFOR have officially begun training for the 'Combined Response 26' exercise, which will culminate on April 24 at the training ground of the Armed Forces of BiH 'Manjača'. The joint exercise, hosted by the AFBiH, is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen international military cooperation through combined training activities.

Members of the 2nd Battalion of the 5th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH) and members of the Italian contingent of the EUFOR Multinational Battalion (MNBN) conducted joint training activities from March 9 to 13 at the barracks in Kiseljak. The focus of the training was on improving interoperability and strengthening cooperation and military decision-making processes among forces participating in Peace Support Operations (PSO).



These intensive activities focused on improving PSO tactics, techniques, and procedures at the company level, and included simulated scenarios of crowd control, establishing and operating temporary checkpoints, and close combat techniques, EUFOR announced.

The training also provided an opportunity for professional exchange of information and best practices, particularly in the area of decision-making under pressure and the application of PSO procedures in complex environments.

The commander of the 2nd Battalion AFBiH, Colonel Borislav Miličević, and the commander of the EUFOR Multinational Battalion, Colonel Gianfabio Colella, agreed that 'Combined Response 26' provides valuable opportunities for joint learning, coordination in diverse security tasks, and strengthening trust between EUFOR and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that continuous joint training is of key importance for maintaining readiness and interoperability.
