Eight cultural institutions received 1.8 million KM

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at today's session adopted the Information on the distribution of funds to institutions of science and culture of importance to Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was prepared by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sport and the Federal Ministry of Education and Science.

These ministries have been instructed to incorporate the adopted distribution of funds to institutions of science and culture of importance to BiH into the Programs for the utilization of funds for current transfers established by the Budget of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2014.

Thus, a total of approximately 1.8 million KM has been approved for institutions for which the FBiH Government has expressed readiness for temporary takeover, co-financing, and management under the "Transfer for institutions of science and culture of importance to BiH".

From the funds of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sport, 600,000 KM is provided and distributed as follows:

Art Gallery of BiH 210,000 KM, Historical Museum of BiH 240,000 KM, and Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts of BiH 150,000 KM.

Within the budget of the Federal Ministry of Education and Science, in the amount of 800,000 KM, the following is provided: 200,000 KM for the Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired of BiH, and 600,000 convertible marks for the National and University Library of BiH.

Also from this ministry, within the "Transfer for institutions of science and promotion of scientific research work of importance to the Federation of BiH", 465,000 KM is provided for the Academy of Sciences and Arts of BiH 100,000 KM, the National Museum of BiH 300,000 KM, and the BiH Cinematheque 65,000 KM.

Otherwise, on February 25th of this year, a meeting of ministers was held with representatives of eight institutions (National Museum of BiH, National and University Library of BiH, Art Gallery of BiH, BiH Cinematheque, Historical Museum of BiH, Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts of BiH, Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired of BiH, and Academy of Sciences and Arts of BiH) at which they concluded that with the help of the FBiH Government, the financial survival of these institutions would be resolved, at least temporarily.

Based on the data submitted by the institutions regarding their work and number of employees, the ministries proposed the distribution of funds secured in the Budget of the Federation of BiH for 2014.
