AF BiH at the disposal of the participants of the March of Peace 2019

SREBRENICA, (Patria) - Members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from July 7 to 11, 2019, as in previous years, are providing support to the "March of Peace 2019" event. The task, which requires special efforts, was preceded by timely preparations of military personnel and materiel at their home deployment locations. Following planned reconnaissance of the terrain, obligations were defined for all temporary organizational units, which include providing accommodation for the participants of the March of Peace 2019, their own accommodation, and security for the units and materiel.

Overnight accommodation for 500 participants of the March was established at the Nezluk location (Sapna municipality) on July 7, 2019, and then accommodation (military tents, military blankets) was established for approximately 2,500 participants of the "March of Peace 2019" at the Liplje location (Zvornik municipality), Pobuđe Mravinjci (Bratunac municipality), and Potočari (Srebrenica municipality).

In addition to the resources engaged in the organization of the "March of Peace 2019", it is foreseen that on the day of the funeral, July 11, 2019, members of the AF BiH will assist high delegations in laying flowers and paying respects at the "Potočari Memorial Center". Furthermore, the use of transport vehicles on the Nezluk – Potočari route has been approved, as well as the participation of military imams in the religious part of the program.

Resources of the Armed Forces of BiH for supporting activities upon the request of the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies and other BiH institutions (helicopters for medical evacuation and VIP transport, EOD teams, soldiers for KDZ checks, and medical vehicles with teams) will be used by special Order of the Minister of Defense, after a Decision by the Presidency of BiH on the engagement and use of Armed Forces of BiH resources in support of the activities marking the 24th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica.
