Primary School 'Begov Han' Celebrates 105th Birthday: Prime Minister Pivić Announces New Salary Increase for Educators

(Patria) - A delegation from the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK), led by Prime Minister Nezir Pivić and Assembly Speaker Ćazim Huskić, attended the ceremony today marking the Day of the Primary School (OŠ) "Begov Han" in Begov Han, Žepče municipality, which celebrated the school's 105th birthday.



The delegation also included the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Mirza Mušija and the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management Jasmin Čajić.



Prime Minister Pivić congratulated the management, teachers, staff, students, and parents on this significant jubilee, stating that education is one of the most important priorities of the government he leads, as evidenced by continuous investment in infrastructure, improvement of curricula to adapt to labor market needs, and by enhancing the material status of employees.

- In the past two and a half years, we have increased employee salaries on two occasions, and by summer, we plan to conclude a new collective agreement that will provide at least a 10 percent increase. Investing in education is investing in the future, not a cost - said Pivić.



He reminded that the government procured textbooks for all primary school grades this year, allocating approximately 2.5 million KM for this purpose, to ease the burden on parents preparing their children for school.



The relevant minister, Mirza Mušija, stated that this approach aims to restore dignity to educators, who are the crucial link in the chain of education, and that education is the guarantee of a state's survival.



- There is no educational process without a satisfied educator. That is why we are continuously working to improve their material situation, and we are investing significant funds in infrastructure to provide even better conditions for teachers and our children - said Mušija.



The director of Primary School "Begov Han", Nevres Memčić, thanked the government and the relevant ministry for recognizing the needs of this school through continuous investment in infrastructure, as well as in the educational process and the improvement of the status of all employees.
