(Patria) - The Organizing Committee for the commemoration of the 29th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in the "UN Safe Area" of Srebrenica in July 1995 will hold its final meeting in Srebrenica on Tuesday, where the program for the commemoration of the genocide anniversary and July 11 in Potočari will be determined.
As stated by the committee president, Hamdija Fejzić, invitations will be sent via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, and a decision has been in effect since 2015 that genocide deniers are not to be invited to Potočari.
This year also marks the 20th anniversary of the first Peace March, and nearly 2,000 people have already registered, who every year traverse the path that Srebrenica residents fled to reach free territory.
Registrations for the Peace March are still possible and can be made through the website marsmira.net and the Facebook page Mars mira.
According to information from the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH, 11 families have so far given consent for the burial of the remains of identified victims who will find their final resting place in the Potočari cemetery.
It is possible that by the beginning of July, permission for the burial of more victims will be granted, and this may not be the final number.
