
(Patria) - Member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have supported the Draft Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, which declares July 11th as the International Day of Reflection and Commemoration of the Srebrenica Genocide, emphasizing the importance for the international community in preventing the recurrence of such events.
The declaration expressing this support was adopted at the 15th two-day session of member states, which concluded today in Banjul, the capital of The Gambia.
57 member states voted for it.
The summit was held under the motto "Strengthening Unity and Solidarity through Dialogue for Sustainable Development", and among other things, it addressed other important issues in the Islamic world.
