Indictment in the "Bosnalijek" case confirmed a month ago, first hearing still not scheduled

The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office is currently working on several major cases, including “Balijagić”,  „Mrkva“,  “Privatization of Šipad” „Holiday Inn“, writes the Patria news agency.

Regarding the “GRAS” case, as Chief Prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Dalida Burzić told reporters today, it had been archived and suspended. The Sarajevo Canton, as the injured party, was not informed about this, but after they were notified, they appealed and the Prosecutor's Office reopened the investigation.

-The case has been reopened and we are awaiting the main hearing. The court accepted our request for the recusal of the president of the Judicial Council, due to suspicion of a conflict of interest. Her husband got a job at GRAS when Ibrahim Jusufranić was the director, Burzić explained.

Although the indictment in the “Bosnalijek” case was confirmed a month ago, a hearing on the plea has not yet been scheduled.

-Two suspects in the “Mrkva” case have been released from custody. We appealed to the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and are awaiting a decision. We are also conducting an investigation into procuring prostitution. In addition, we worked on numerous other cases that we had not before, and for the first time we conducted six financial investigations, said Burzić.

The cases „Reket“, „Čović“ and  „Bićakčić-Branković“ were closed by a prosecutorial decision or a final verdict with no appeals. Regarding the cases „Leotar“, „Ugljen“, „Ševe“ and „the murder of Sefer Halilović's wife“, they are in progress.

 -This Prosecutor's Office cannot return certain cases to the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina if that prosecutor's office has referred them to the cantonal level at the stage of a report, before opening an investigation. We receive cases from the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina when they assess that they are not competent for them, Burzić explained.    

Burzić also announced a large number of decisions to close cases where the perpetrator is unknown and which have been open in the Prosecutor's Office for more than ten years. She did not want to comment on the information that she was questioned in the investigation against Bakir Dautbašić, who is in custody on suspicion of obstructing the judiciary.
