Accused prosecutor Jasminka Knežević seeks recusal of all judges of the Special Department of the Supreme Court of the Federation

(Patria) - Jasminka Knežević, suspended prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo, accused of disclosing official secrets, has requested the recusal of the presiding judge Mersudin Pružan and all other judges of the Special Department for Corruption, Organized and Inter-Cantonal Crime of the Supreme Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Knežević filed a request for the recusal of the presiding judge Mersudin Pružan and all judges of the Special Department of the Supreme Court of the Federation, stating that the proceedings being conducted "are not in accordance with the Law on Criminal Procedure of the Federation of BiH".

"An impression of bias is being created," Knežević said.

The trial has been postponed, and the request for the recusal of judges will be decided upon at a general session of the Supreme Court of the FBiH.

At today's hearing, the indictment was scheduled to be read and opening statements to be presented, as announced at the status conference at the beginning of March.

According to a previous statement from the Federal Prosecutor's Office, Knežević is accused of having, from May 16 to 20, 2025, using the social network TikTok and the WhatsApp application, provided documents from the criminal case she was assigned to an unauthorized person, thereby making accessible particularly confidential data that constitutes an official secret.

It is stated that she knew that this was particularly confidential information belonging to the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH, and without the owner's permission, she sent photographs of parts of the documentation marked with the secrecy level 'confidential' to an unauthorized person, as well as a part of the record of witness interviews from the investigation, writes Detektor.
