Party of BiH Novo Sarajevo Municipal Board: We remain consistent with what we have said!

(Patria) - In the midst of the election campaign, an indictment was confirmed against the list leader of the Party of BiH in Novo Sarajevo, Omer Begović.

Omer Begović then informed the public with a statement that, if elected, he would not take office in the Novo Sarajevo Municipal Council, and would thus withdraw himself from the election process.

Begović was aware that by taking office, he would end his political activity in the Party of BiH and by that act, he ended his political activism and engagement in the Party of BiH.

With this statement, we inform the public that councilor Omer Begović will not be part of the Party of BiH Club in the Novo Sarajevo Municipal Council.

We remind that Begović is accused of a criminal offense for favoring a person against whom criminal proceedings have been initiated and that he did not suspend that person. Samir Avdić, as a member of the School Board of the school where Begović was the principal at the time, did not initiate the procedure for Begović's dismissal, even though he knew all these details. If Begović misused his position and did not take the actions he was supposed to take, why did Mr. Samir Avdić not take action and dismiss Begović?

And Avdić was the list leader of the People and Justice party, an elected councilor, and took office without being questioned about the entire situation. So much for equality before the law and politically motivated criminal proceedings.

But we leave those matters for the public to judge.

“We are aware that a political struggle awaits us for every councilor, in order to form a majority within the Council, and it is equally important for electing councilors to the City Council, and thus directly for the election of the new mayor, but we will remain faithful to our political and moral principles by which we are recognized by the citizens. These are the basic principles of SBiH and we will not trade them, power is important, but not at any cost,” stated the Municipal Board of SBiH Novo Sarajevo.
