SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The best Bosnian-Herzegovinian cyclist Lejla Tanović won first place at the UCI C2 race in Metković, earning 30 new UCI points for the world ranking list and the Olympic ranking norm. This ten-time national champion and competitor of the professional Brujula Bike Racing Team, who is among the top 100 female cyclists in the world, is also supported by the Stari Grad Municipality.
She said the race in Metković was very demanding.
“The race was technically and physically demanding, especially since we competed in temperatures over 40 degrees. BK Metković organized the race excellently, and we will certainly see each other next year,” said Lejla.
In early March, Lejla won sixth place at the XCO Chelva race held in Spain, one of the strongest races in Spain. Immediately after that, she continued with excellent results in the new season, winning second place and 40 new UCI points at the UCI C1 race in Vodice. The Commission for Physical Culture and Sports of the Stari Grad Municipality made a decision on financial support for this talented girl.
“The Stari Grad Municipality supported me for the race in Spain held on March 3rd and in Vodice held on March 28th, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart,” said Lejla.
Lejla Tanović entered the world of cycling as a teenager, quite by accident, and to this day she has achieved excellent results and is the best BH cyclist.
