Old Town Municipality and Sarajevo Mufti Hosted Iftar for Diplomatic Corps

(Patria) - The Mayor of the Old Town Municipality Sarajevo, Irfan Čengić, and the Sarajevo Mufti, Nedžad ef. Grabus, hosted members of the diplomatic corps at an iftar, organized at the premises of the Bosniak Institute - Adil Zulfikarpašić Foundation.

Čengić and Grabus hosted the diplomats along with imams from the Old Town and other Sarajevo imams.

- Many joint and socially responsible iftars are organized during this holy month. The goal of this iftar is to bring the beauties of the month of Ramadan closer to the diplomats in our country, as well as to express recognition and gratitude on behalf of the local community to our imams and Mufti Grabus.

It is a great honor and richness to break fast at the same table with people coming from four different continents and over 20 different cultures - stated Čengić.

Mufti Grabus thanked the guests for coming and emphasized the significance of the venue where the iftar was held, as it was once the endowment of Gazi Husrev-beg, and today it is an important institution - the Bosniak Institute.

- Ramadan is the month of mercy, of Allah's forgiveness. I wish you to experience the beauty of Ramadan in Sarajevo, it is truly a unique experience - emphasized Mufti Grabus.

Guided by the idea of sharing the joy of Ramadan with others, an event was organized that represents a symbol of togetherness, solidarity, and respect for diversity, and provided an opportunity for building cooperation and mutual respect between Bosnia and Herzegovina and other countries.

The importance of dialogue and mutual understanding among peoples and states was emphasized.

Čengić and Grabus expressed their gratitude to all the guests who attended this gathering, and their hope for the continuation of successful cooperation and friendship in the future.
