Remediation of a landslide in Alipašina Street between numbers 252-257 is underway, where approximately 20 meters of the local road collapsed due to ground movement. The landslide remediation project, worth 103,000 KM, is funded by the Municipality Centar, reports the Patria News Agency.
During the works, which began at the end of February 2015, a reinforced concrete retaining wall, 24 meters long and 3.40 meters high, was built along the road. In addition, as stated by Nedžad Đukić, site manager of the company "Mibral" which is carrying out the works, as part of the landslide remediation project, more than 1,000 meters of pipes for the drainage of sewage and surface water were laid, which were then connected to the city's sewage network.
– We connected seven nearby residential buildings to the new network, which were not connected to the sewage network until now. We also installed a gully grate for draining surface water from the road – said Đukić.
With the improvement of weather conditions, workers will install a protective iron fence along the new retaining wall. In addition, they will asphalt the section of the road where the landslide remediation was carried out and install new concrete curbs.
The Institute for Construction of Sarajevo Canton is responsible for the implementation and supervision of this project. The main project was done by the company "Design & QC" d.o.o. Sarajevo, which was also financed by the Municipality Centar with 6,300 KM, it was announced from the Municipality Centar.
