Municipality Centar presented financial aid to mothers

In the Municipality Centar on Thursday, December 11, 2014, ten one-time financial aid packages were presented to mothers from this municipality with lower financial status, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

Of the mothers who qualified for this aid, six received 300 KM each for the birth of their first child, while four mothers received 500 KM based on the birth of their third or fourth child. The assistant to the mayor for labor, health, and social issues, Osmo Babić, stated after presenting the aid that the project was launched last year with the aim of improving the birth rate in the central city municipality and as assistance in equipping newborns, which is especially helpful for unemployed parents and those with low incomes.

– Mothers who are unemployed and receive child benefits are entitled to a one-time aid of 300 KM, and mothers who give birth to their third or any subsequent child are entitled to aid in the amount of 500 KM if the total income of their household does not exceed the average federal salary for the previous year – said Babić.

Aid was also presented to Selma Ećo, who gave birth to her third child last month. Her husband, Elvir, accepted the money on her behalf and expressed gratitude for the care that the Municipality Centar provides to social categories.

– This aid means a lot to us today because both my wife and I are unemployed. We will use the money to purchase necessary equipment for our baby Asja. My wife and I also have older daughters, Berina and Sara, whom we are very proud of – said Elvir.

During this year, 81 mothers have received this type of one-time financial aid from the Municipality Centar, while last year, when this project began, 91 mothers received this type of assistance.

In the budget of the Municipality Centar for 2014, an amount of 40,000 KM was planned for the project of one-time financial aid for mothers in need of social assistance, which is implemented by the municipal Service for Labor, Health, and Social Affairs.
