(Patria) - Czech politician from the far-right TOP 09 party, Ondrej Kolar, is expected to be the European Parliament's rapporteur for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Politicki.ba has learned.
As we were told, the European People's Party (EPP) is entitled to the rapporteur position for our country.
They decided to nominate Kolar.
This former mayor of the 6th district in Prague is known for his sharp criticism of Russia and China.
At the same time, he is ruthless towards (unfounded) criticism from the opposition. At one point, councilors from parties not in power in the district he led accused him of arbitrariness and tyranny.
There are several examples of his sharp clashes with critics. The opposition accused him of behaving "like a Russian governor".
He is also known in Prague for filing a criminal complaint against himself, after terminating a contract with a company, for which he was sharply criticized.
On the other hand, he praised the activities of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Gaza, and sharply criticized the International Criminal Court for accusing the Israeli prime minister of committing genocide.
According to available information, Kolar has not dealt with BiH, nor the Western Balkans, writes Politicki.ba.
To become rapporteur, he must receive approval from the European Parliament.
It is possible that this will happen at the plenary session currently underway.
According to Politicki.ba's information, Kolar's appointment could happen as early as today, by the end of the day.
