Sessions of the Parliaments of BiH and the Federation enabled

The Civil Protection Headquarters of Sarajevo Canton issued a Decision tonight exempting from point 1 of the Decision of March 29 this year, which introduced a ban on holding all private and public gatherings indoors for more than twenty (20) persons, the organization and holding of sessions of the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH.

In accordance with this decision, sessions may be held while respecting social distancing, prescribed epidemiological and protective measures, and recommendations of the Crisis Headquarters of the Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton, which form an integral part of this decision. This decision enables the work of legislative bodies and the adoption of decisions according to which the executive authorities could act in the interest of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federation of BiH.

The Headquarters also amended the Decision of March 22 this year, according to which municipal civil protection headquarters are ordered to take over, through their structures, prescribed medications, i.e., regular therapies from pharmacies for persons over 65 years of age who have no close relative to care for them, and deliver them to their headquarters. The amendment orders these headquarters to distribute medications from the headquarters to the addresses of our fellow citizens over 65 years of age, through their structures or volunteers of municipal Red Cross organizations, with the mandatory issuance of a certificate of delivered medications. Also, at tonight's session, a Decision was adopted that the Civil Protection Administration of Sarajevo Canton sign a contract with the Public Institution "Student Center" Sarajevo for the needs of forced isolation for persons who do not comply with the decision of the competent inspection authorities on self-isolation, for the period for which that measure is determined or extended. These persons will be forcibly isolated in one of the pavilions of the Bjelave Student Dormitory. The Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton was ordered to have police officers secure the said facility.

All institutions in the field of social protection in the Canton area are obliged to implement the isolation measure for their users, regardless of whether they are existing users who leave their facilities for certain reasons and return, or new users, which implies their accommodation in special rooms while implementing other prescribed epidemiological and protective measures. By the same decision of the Civil Protection Headquarters of Sarajevo Canton, all institutions in the field of social protection are tasked with submitting regular reports to the Epidemiological Service of the Institute for Public Health of Sarajevo Canton.
