(Patria) - The Independent Board of the BiH Parliament held a session today to discuss the situation at the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), related to the escape of Deputy Director Zoran Galić, whose arrest was sought by the BiH Prosecutor's Office.
The Independent Board passed a conclusion, and sent it to the Council of Ministers of BiH, according to which the fugitive SIPA Deputy Director Zoran Galić can be dismissed or relieved of duty at his own request, writes Hayat.ba.
The decision was made by the board consisting of Enes Obarlija, Mišo Čavar, Muhamed Mujakić, Enes Bezdrob, Mato Miletić, Nikola Džambas, Darko Kremenović, and Milian Stanić.
We remind you that Galić has been unavailable to BiH law enforcement agencies since July 8, and according to information released on July 9 by the Chief Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, Milanko Kajganić, he illegally crossed the border with Croatia and is in that country.
His legal team submitted medical documentation to the BiH Prosecutor's Office, intending to justify his stay and apparent continued presence in Croatia. Galić is listed as being on sick leave in SIPA's records.
Galić had previously stayed in Zagreb for treatment on multiple occasions while he was also the Director of the BiH Border Police. The criminal offenses he is suspected of occurred during the period he managed that police agency.
Since February 2023, he has held the position of SIPA Deputy Director, despite the BiH Prosecutor's Office having six open cases against him.
The BiH Prosecutor's Office did not prosecute Galić until Europol became involved after unpacking the Sky and Anom applications.
