Olympic champion and judo legend Ilias Iliadis to visit Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The European club judo champion from the Chechen Republic (Grozny-Russia) will be in Sarajevo starting Friday.

Judo club Edelweiss is one of the most organized judo clubs in the world and a club with more than thousands of judokas in its ranks.

The efforts invested by the club's management in recent years have led to Edelweiss becoming the European club champion in 2017, which is an exceptional sporting achievement.

Edelweiss frequently hosts and collaborates with the most eminent athletes in the world, sports experts, and sports legends such as judoka Yasuhira Yamashita (a competitor who remained undefeated in his career).

They also often host other world-class famous athletes like boxers Floyd Mayweather, Badr Hari, and others, whose presence provides additional motivation for young people to work hard and achieve sporting success.

- What we want to highlight is that the youngest Olympic judo champion, multiple world and European champion Ilias Iliadis, a sports legend, and certainly one of the most significant judokas of all time, will also visit Sarajevo. Ilias Iliadis is an athlete who selflessly passes on his knowledge to young athletes, motivates them, and is one of the most deserving athletes for the popularization of judo worldwide.

As part of the visit of our guests, a series of activities are planned that will undoubtedly contribute to the development of judo in Bosnia and Herzegovina under the auspices of the ON 1 sports project - stated the ON1 club.

A press conference is scheduled for Monday at Hotel Hills at 2 PM, followed by visits to institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the coming days.

This visit is a confirmation that the ON1 sports project and ON 1 judo club are increasingly gaining an international character in the field of judo, moving a step ahead, and becoming recognizable in the world of judo.

- Despite all the difficulties and challenges we have faced, by believing that we are doing the right thing, we have managed to reach this high level of sports cooperation and development, to the delight of all our friends, athletes, and people who have recognized the potential in judo in Bosnia and Herzegovina, both at home and abroad - say ON1.
