Faculty of Humanities of SUM reacts to poster without mosques: Product of artificial intelligence and approved by IPSA

(Patria) - The Faculty of Humanities of the University of Mostar today reacted to the controversial poster they published a few days ago announcing the Summer School organized by that faculty and IPSA (International Political Science Association) in July, on which the minarets of the mosques visible in the background of the Old Bridge have been replaced by towers or church steeples.

According to the Faculty of Humanities of SUM, the poster was generated by an artificial intelligence program with the Old Bridge, the symbol of Mostar, as its central motif, and it caused hysteria among parts of the media and politics in BiH.

"A completely benign depiction of the Old Bridge, approved by IPSA, has caused hatred, threats, disinformation, and defamation of the Faculty of Humanities, as well as the University of Mostar. It is incredible how a chauvinistic view clouds perspective, how tendentious intentions and motives are so easily imputed. Even more disappointing are the attempts to discredit the Faculty of Humanities with partners from IPSA as an educational institution that promotes inter-ethnic and inter-religious intolerance. Particularly discouraging are the vast amounts of hatred expressed by parts of the media and political figures, as well as citizens in comments on various media portals. Among these comments are those calling for the demolition and destruction of the Faculty of Humanities and the University of Mostar as the only public university in the Croatian language in BiH. The Faculty of Humanities has reported such threats to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of HNC.

This Faculty points out that for the first time in BiH, a summer school organized by IPSA will be held in Mostar, which places the Faculty of Humanities of SUM on the global map along with Antalya, Capri, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Singapore, and Montreal.
