Sergej Barbarez has finally spoken out, and on social media, admitting that he would gladly take the helm of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team, reports the Patria news agency.

- In recent days, my name has been frequently mentioned in the context of the selection of a new head coach for the football/nogomet national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Given that many of you see me as the future head coach, I feel the need to address you. The Bosnia and Herzegovina national team is the most important part of my life and football career. Like all of you, I experience all our successes and failures just as emotionally as I did as a player, and that will never change. I am proud of all of you who contributed to me giving my maximum, both in the national team and in the clubs where I played. I am even prouder that it is you who want to see me in the position of head coach of our national team. I have never hidden that one of my life's dreams is to one day, as a coach, lead our country to a major competition. I am convinced that with the program that my expert team and I would present and implement, we would succeed in that. Although this would be my first major coaching job in my career, I want to tell you that I believe in myself, my maturity, my expertise, and that I am ready for this job. I believe that with your help and the team we have, we would fulfill the goal and qualify for the European Championship - Barbarez wrote.
