Ministry of Defence issues statement: Crew not in life-threatening condition, helicopter engaged in dress rehearsal for planned exercise

(Patria) - A helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina of the UH-1H type from the Air Force and Air Defence Brigade fell into Lake Jablanica today, August 28, 2024, at 11 AM.

The four-member crew, consisting of a pilot, co-pilot, flight engineer, and search and rescue specialist, is not in life-threatening condition and is undergoing preventive medical examination at the emergency department in Konjic.

The helicopter was engaged in a dress rehearsal for a planned exercise with the Civil Protection of the Municipality of Konjic, which was scheduled to take place on Thursday.

All relevant services were immediately dispatched to the scene to determine the circumstances of the helicopter crash.

The Minister of Defence of BiH, Zukan Helez, immediately headed to the crash site. The public will be further informed upon completion of the investigation.
