Mayors of Ribnik and Ključ issue statements - Dakić and Musić: Condolences to the family of the deceased, speedy recovery to the injured police officer

(Patria) - Following the death of a young RS Ministry of Interior police officer (M. P.) from Drvar, who worked in Ribnik and died this morning (March 30) while returning from work on the Ključ – Bosanski Petrovac road, Duško Dakić, Mayor of the Municipality of Ribnik, issued a statement.

"With deep sadness, I received the news of the tragic traffic accident in which a young member of the RS Police, employed at the Ribnik Police Station, lost his life. On behalf of the Municipality of Ribnik and in my own name, I extend my sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, his colleagues, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of RS," Dakić wrote.

He added that this is an irreplaceable loss for the family, the police, and the entire community, which is losing a man who dedicated his life to serving and protecting citizens.

"May he have eternal glory and thanks. Ribnik mourns today," the statement reads.

Jasmin Musić, Mayor of the neighboring Municipality of Ključ, also issued a statement.

"In the early morning hours, I received the sad news from the commander of the Ključ Police Station about a serious traffic accident that occurred in our municipality in the Lanište area, in which an RS Ministry of Interior employee born in 1998 died, while another participant, born in 2000, was seriously injured and quickly taken to the UKC Banja Luka for treatment.

I express my sincere condolences and deep sympathy to the family of the deceased young man, as well as to the employees of the Ribnik Police Station and the citizens of Drvar, the place of residence of those affected by this tragedy. I pray to God for the recovery of the injured participant," Musić wrote.

We remind you that the twenty-seven-year-old member of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of RS died this morning, while his colleague N. G. (26) was seriously injured.

The tragedy occurred at the Lanište pass near Ključ when a car carrying the two police officers collided with a truck.
