Large quantity of textile products and footwear seized in the Tuzla area

(Patria) - Authorized officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH temporarily seized 2061 pieces of textile products and footwear worth approx. BAM 176,000

In the past few days, in the area of RC Tuzla, based on previous operational and tactical knowledge, authorized officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority from RC Tuzla undertook intensified activities at customs posts, and conducted detailed inspections and searches of freight motor vehicles, as well as intensified activities with sole proprietors.

Thus, in two cases during the detailed inspection and search of a freight motor vehicle, in addition to the regularly declared goods, hidden and smuggled goods were found, namely:

- On 09/03/2025, in accordance with the instructions and directives of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and the order of the Court of BiH, a detailed inspection and search of a freight motor vehicle was carried out, during which, in addition to regularly declared goods (beer), 920 pieces of textile products (tracksuits, jeans) were found, which were hidden, smuggled, and intended for the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina. A report on the committed criminal offense and perpetrator will be filed with the Prosecutor's Office of BiH against the suspect, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that the criminal offense of "Smuggling" under Article 214 of the Criminal Code of BiH has been committed.

- On 09/09/2025, in addition to regularly declared goods, 355 pieces of textile products and footwear (tracksuits, jackets, sneakers) were found with one importer, which were hidden and smuggled goods intended for the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Measures and actions were taken against the perpetrator of these illegalities in accordance with valid legal regulations.

Also, on 09/10/2025, during the verification of the turnover and origin of goods with a sole proprietor from the RC Tuzla area, 786 pieces of textile products (tracksuits, t-shirts) were found for which there was no legally prescribed documentation. Legally prescribed measures and actions were taken against the sole proprietor. All subject goods were temporarily seized, and their value is estimated at approx. BAM 176,000.
