In Sarajevo today, December 9, 2014, a regular meeting of the Standing Committee for Financial Stability was held, at which a comprehensive crisis action plan was adopted. This plan represents a set of measures and procedures that the competent institutions, members of the Standing Committee for Financial Stability, undertake independently or in cooperation with other members of the Standing Committee and other regulatory institutions, with the aim of preventive action and avoiding crisis situations, as well as managing and acting in crisis situations when they occur, with the goal of preserving financial stability, announced the Central Bank of BiH, as reported by the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The meeting discussed the current situation in the banking sector, concluding that the banking sector is stable, liquid, and well-capitalized.

- Problems in the operations of Bobar Bank a.d. Bijeljina are an isolated case and have no systemic impact on the financial stability of the BiH banking sector. All deposits up to 50,000.00 KM are insured by the Deposit Insurance Agency of BiH. Relevant measures provided for by the Law on Banks of the Republika Srpska and the Law on the Banking Agency of the Republika Srpska are being taken to resolve the problems at Bobar Bank a.d. Bijeljina - the statement reads.

Today's meeting was chaired by the Governor of the Central Bank of BiH, Kemal Kozarić, and was attended by the representative of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH, Miroslav Tomić, the Minister of Finance of the Federation of BiH, Ante Krajina, the representative of the Ministry of Finance of the RS, Snježana Rudić, the Director of the Banking Agency of the RS, Slavica Injac, the Director of the Banking Agency of the FBiH, Zlatko Barš, and the Director of the Deposit Insurance Agency of BiH, Josip Nevjestić. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the International Monetary Fund, led by Mission Chief Ron Van Rooden.
